Sarah Palin. SNL. It’s Finally Here

October 19, 2008 · 1 Comment

Sarah Palin finally arrived at SNL. Pity there was no real interaction with Tina Fey, wonder if it’s because of political differences – Fey did mention ’she’s done’ if Palin entered the White House, and SNL has always been left-leaning (as Fey/Palin said ‘liberal right wing’ media). One great thing about her is she seems much less uptight than McCain, Obama or Hilary in their SNL cameos – maybe its an age thing.

And I loved the multiple references that not everyone will get – the Mark Wahlberg talks to animals, Alec Baldwin-Tina Fey-30 Rock stuff, and how Alec Baldwin is one of the more popular guest hosts at SNL. But enough of the talking, here are the highlights:

I called it!!! Sort of…..

I promised to talk about Tina Fey, and the timing couldn’t be more apt – she just won an emmy for Best Actress. Some of my favourite shows swept the Emmys which were given out this week. If you didn’t already know, her show, ‘30 Rock’ is possibly a comedy show that has the best mix of crudeness and satire on primetime television. Which brings to mind her equally outstanding co-star Alec Baldwin who won the Best Actor – who plays an over-ambitious Republican who is/was NBC’s CEO. Credit must be given the rest of the ensemble too – all hilarious in there own right.

Here are some great scenes

Well, I was ecstatic but not surprised 30 Rock won, and I was even more excited to know ‘The Daily Show’ won too!
